This is OPTIMISM!!

There are times when we get really upset because some people were rude to us. Even I get hurt when someone raises his/her pitch over me. I seriously don’t like people doing this to me. But recently I got a way to come over this. To see things differently is the key. When someone is rude to you or they behave in a way that you definitely don’t acknowledge, then thank these people because they have given you freedom. Think this way: when someone is polite to you, no matter how upset you are, you have to behave in the best way you can. But if someone is rude to you then it’s completely your choice to act in whatever manner you want to. There are no formalities; you are not liable to them. On the contrary, when people give respect to you they expect you to smile, to acknowledge them, to behave in a particular manner. So, next time when someone is rude to you, think that this person have given you freedom and from now on you can act the way you want to with this person, and you would be happy!!

What will I do?

Yesterday I was just wondering that suppose I somehow come to know that, today is my last day and I have only 24 hours left of my total existence then what will I do? How I would be spending those last precious hours of my life? It’s quite scary but I just thought about it. I mulled over it for a long time and concluded that I would do what all are priorities of my life. I would tell each and every person I love that how much I love them and how much I care about them. I would let every special person of my life know about how special they are and I would spend the entire day with them. I would also pray and thank god for making me so blessed and would request him to make my life same way next time. Then in last 1 hour I would like to sleep and would like to die peacefully.

It’s now or never!!

I believe that I am blessed to be on this beautiful planet and live the life the way I am living. I also don’t know how many people think likewise. With 2007 declared as The World Environment Year, it was very clear that environment was becoming the top priority of the people around the globe. But, is this something we say about and make plans only? Do we actually care about the environment which we live in? I won’t answer that because we all know it! Global warming is the biggest threat today. As said by the famous scientist, William Hawkins, that if we are able to survive for the next 10 years we can survive for one century more. So, the situation or rather I should say the danger we are facing is pretty palpable. 7 trees are being cut for each person every year, so you can clearly imagine the number of trees lost by mother earth just to fulfill your desires till now. We all know what needs to be done. Plant more trees, go for conservation of resources, recycling, making things reusable is all what is required. Moreover, if at this point we don’t become sensitive enough towards this issue then the days are not far when we have to face the repercussions of our selfishness. Just think about what you are leaving for your future generations and you would surely go on the right way because it’s now or never!

Monkey Mischief

Monkeys and Shimla (the place where I live) are like synonyms. And the mess that is created by these mischievous mammals becomes apparent, the moment you enter Shimla. There are huge hoardings on the highway (issued in public interest), warning people to stay away from them and also not to feed them. But as usual, tourists ignore these cautionary statements and the results we are suffering. I still remember the first incident of my life when I came face-to-face with these little devils. I was in standard 2 and I was waiting outside my father’s office for him. Just then a huge monkey came, caught my skirt with his mouth and started moving in the opposite direction of the road. I was so terrified for first 30 seconds that I wasn’t even able to shout, and when I did, an uncle came for my rescue. THANK GOD! I was finally saved from the beast and I won’t lie if I tell you that I still dread them, small or big, in all sizes! Women are their main target. They will not allow you to eat anything alone, you can’t take eatables (even packed) to your home if they have an idea about what you are carrying, you will find your garbage bin tumbled down every morning, they love playing with the clothes you would hang outside your home to dry (you may even find them ten blocks after from your place!). So, this goes to all people who visit our “Queen of Hills”, PLEASE DON’T feed them, it might me a momentary fun for you, but their confidence is boosted because of this and they are creating too much nuisance, which is intolerable. So, please do understand!

My Love

“I love cartoons, Tom, Jerry, Jasmine, Tweety, Bugs, Daffy, Sylvester, I just love all of them!” that’s what I always say, but most of my friends think that it’s just too kiddish to watch cartoons. According to them it’s meant for small children but I am unable to think likewise. I don’t know why most of the people think that way, though the people who create such adorable creatures are adult themselves. Moreover, if these people weren’t in love with these little naughty caricatures, they wouldn’t have been so amazing, as ‘art’ is something which shows itself in the best way only if you are passionate about it. Furthermore, I think that in such a stressful daily life, watching cartoons are the best way the rewind. You don’t have to think anything, just enjoy. Even the messages they depict are also commendable. And in the culture like mine (quite conservative), and time like this (when TV is becoming more of a thing for exposure rather than entertainment), I believe cartoons shows are only modest shows left that could be enjoyed along with your whole family. So, whatever people say, I have only one message for them that I won’t give up watching cartoons even when I would be 90, irrespective of what you say, and that’s the bottom line.

Love is in the air

Love is in the air as Valentine’s Day has finally arrived. It’s that time of the year when you express your love to your loved ones. And I believe why just today, we should tell all our dear ones how much we love them, how much we care about them, because we never know what future has in its hold for us. Tomorrow we may or may not have the time to say all this. So, open up your heart and let everyone know what’s inside it. As at the end of the life, how many people we have earned (who love us the way we are, without any conditions) matters more that how much money we have. Rather this is our true wealth. So, treasure it. Let every one know how special they are to you. On that note I would like to sign off. Happy Valentine’s Day, enjoy!

Factopedia

We all have various types of phobias, which at times become too irrational. So, today let’s identify few I know about. Like there is Acousticophobia which is fear of noise. It is also a morbid fear of sounds including your voice. Then fear of heights, the one that I have too, is called Acrophobia. Anthophobia is fear of flowers, including any flower part, such as a petal or stem. Then this one could be fear of any school going kid-Arithmophobia, fear of numbers. Furthermore, there is also a fear of making decisions- Decidophobia. Dendrophobia is fear of trees. Ergophobia is fear of work and may be a combination of fears like fear of failing at assigned task, fear of speaking before groups or fear of socializing. Tachophobia is fear of speed. It’s also known as Fast Fea or Fast Movement Fear. Then my favorite, Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia, (just love the name!) is the fear of long words. So, that was all about the fears, I hope I have not instilled Phobophobia (fear of phobias) in you. Take care till next time. Chao!

Bollywood Mania

I recently saw Chak de and Jab We Met. Though I am very selective about the movies I watch but just loved these two. Don’t worry, I am not writing about the review of these two, but I just want to appreciate the style of Bollywood story telling style. Maybe they are just too loud but I really love the emotion packed melodrama that is showed in these movies. Everything is just too dramatic and I think that’s what movies are for- to entertain. After a long stressful day, people watch movies to enjoy, relax, and that’s what is offered here- complete entertainment. It has everything- drama, songs, comedy, emotions- what else we want!

Indian Religion

Yesterday, Indian cricket team was put down under by the Lankan Lions in the one-day international at Canberra and all the news channels, as usual, started their blame game. Two days back when they beat kangaroos, it was all praise for them. I am not here to review about what went right and what went wrong but I just want to know one thing that why we are like this. One day we keep these cricketers on Cloud 9 and next day deep inside the earth’s core. Why we don’t understand and even they are humans and it’s just a game. But being an Indian I am also very well aware of the fact that it is religion here. And we Indians are like that only- filled with emotions-good or bad! But I also think its very unfair and nothing but a hype created by media just to increase their TRPs. Finally I just empathize with them. That’s all I can do.

My Treasure

I was browsing through my books today, trying to find my Atlas so see where actually this Dardistan named place was (unusual isn’t it?), which my GK book referred to- as the place from where River Indus passes. Just then I came across my twelfth standard “Slam Book”. I hope you all are aware of what a slam book is. Well, for those who are not acquainted with the term, it is a kind of a book where each page is printed with similar questions and you give it to your friends to pen down their thoughts on it, just to know them better and keep these memories treasured forever.
Now back to where I was. So, I saw my Slam Book and all the reminiscence of the people who have written on it came flashing back to my memory lane. Moreover, its really a jovial feeling to see what people have written about me at the last question, which says- About you, I Feel:.
From crazy, caring, sweet, naughty, cute, responsible- I found every compliment on it that I could think of for myself. I was so delighted while going through it. All my friends’ nick names, their hobbies, teachers they loved most and even those whom they hated, things they loved, or favorite movies, their crushes, best moment, worst moment- it has just everything.
I am so enchanted that I haven’t even kept it back. It’s truly ‘My Treasure’.
